I am Kamini, I had a surname at one point but it has been lost to me. My parents were sojourni that had spent many years married before I was born. They had tried for children for quite a while before I was born. My mother told me stories of my father, though he was long gone the day I made my way into the world. He wanted a son, which he clearly was fated not to have. He walked out on my mother and myself before I had even taken my first breath, she tells me. We lived well enough, we managed and my mother provided me a fairly normal childhood. We moved from place to place, never staying more than a few moons. My mother met an older man who was nearly blind and his sight was fading faster; I would read to him and he paid us well for the times I spent with him. My mother grew ill and in her desperation to make sure I was taken care of, she sold me to the older man. He allowed her to remain with us until she took her last breath. I had several summers with the man before he too passed, I was in my 11th turn of seasons.
A ruthless man from the city claimed all that was the older man's, including myself. Since I was still quite young, I was trained to fight, at first. I taught to be quick on my feet and avoid the hands of others. Eventually, he felt it was time to add me to his 'entertainment'. Guests were invited to bid on slaves that were each given a rule and thrown into a pit to fight, sometimes to the death. My rule always remained the same, though others would often change. If we survived the fight but broke the rule, we would be killed by the one that bid on us. Otherwise, we were at their mercy for the duration of the evening. I remained with this Master up until sometime around my 22nd summer, I'm guessing, it was a long time. He made a bad deal with one of his guests and they found him floating in his own pond one evening.
He had long since before made a business deal with one of his guests for my future; I was quickly removed from the estate to find myself with a sojourni troupe. My new Master's wife had gone missing and my primary duty was the search for her within the cities and villages I travelled to for supplies and useful items. It was concluded that she had passed. I remained with him again for a time before we made it to the lands near Darmahk and he felt that I would do better in the city than I would with him and so he sold me to the Slavers, who in turn sold me to Warrior Oraius. After fulfilling my duties to him, he allowed me my freedom.

After having earned my freedoms, I sought my path amongst the Collective of Shaman, it was not an easy journey, nor did it come without a fair share of ridicule. Once amongst the Collective, which came on the Nineteenth of November, of the Fifteen hundred and thirteenth year of the King. I spent much of my time meditating or working hard. I began my own meditations and research on a matter that greatly interests me. I presented this to afew others from the Collective in order to continue along the Path. I made my way to Sage, rather swiftly and continue to work daily to the next point along my journey. After Lady Jysove stepped down from her position as Guildmistress, Sorcerer Adinas took her place and after several months, I was named his Assistant. A very short lived title, three days, to be exact and on the Sixth day of the Eighth month,  I became the Guildmistress of the Shaman Collective. There has been much work to accomplish, reestablishing ourselves and growing our numbers. Several of our Shaman have returned home and done great things since their return and we can only continue to thrive and work towards the purpose set before us by the Lord of Shaman.

I do suppose I should touch on the fact that I now have a surname. I spent some time alone, meditating, thinking, pondering. One evening, as I sat in front of the fire, I remembered my mother, as beautiful as she was in her early years, after marrying my father and just before giving birth to a child. She wore a bracelet around her left wrist, white-gold with a single gleaming sapphire in the center with several small runes around the stone. Beneath the stone the name Aislin was etched in soft lettering. The moment I saw it, I knew that was who I am. Kamini Aislin!

And so it began...
